Lyssons defends Eastern title

Kingston, 5 May 2023: Just as they did last year, Lyssons Primary Schools of St Thomas successfully defended the INSPORTS/Devon Biscuits Primary Schools Eastern Athletics Championship title.

Lyssons amassed 300.50 points and won by nearly 100 points as second-placed Harbour View of St Andrew were well back on 201.33 points.

Lyssons Primary, won the $250,000 main prize, Harbour View collected $200,000 and St Patrick’s Primary of Kingston took the third place prize of $150,000.

The teams that placed fourth to tenth each received $75,000.

Omeco Henclewood of Holy Rosary and Davere Walker of Lyssons were joint overall champion boys after each winning two events and amassing 18 points. The champion girl, Kayla Lewis of John Mills, also finished with 18 points.

The INSPORTS Primary Schools series moves to GC Foster on Monday for the three-day Central Championships (May 8-10) ahead of the Western Championships (May 11-13) and the National Championships (May 25-27).
